Summer season (April to June)

Summer is the greatest time to explore Kedarnath since the weather is pleasant and the temperature stays between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. The day is pleasant since the sun is bright and there is a moderate cold breeze. With the weather on your side, this is the best time to explore Kedarnath temple, Panch Kedar, and Chota Char Dham, as well as other local attractions.

Monsoon Season (July to September)

During the monsoon, the average temperature at Kedarnath ranges from 27 degrees to 12 degrees. The monsoon in Kedarnath is unexpected. The region doesn't get much rain on average, but when it does, it can cause landslides and blockages. If you don't want to take risks, forego this season and plan your spiritual vacation for the summer.

Winter Season (October to March)

Expect bitterly cold weather if you travel the Himalayas in the winter. In more ways than that one, the winter in Kedarnath will challenge your strength and leave you speechless. The scenery is breathtaking, but you'll have to contend with temperatures that dip below zero at moments. Despite the fact that there are some sunny days at Kedarnath throughout the winter, it is a cold season.

The Kedarnath Jyotirlingam's Importance

The Lingam at Kedarnath is one of Lord Shiva's 12 Jyotilings. It is said to have cleansed the Himalayas and kept them immersed in the divinity of Lord Shiva. Its past stretches back to when Lord Shiva was pleased by Nar and Narayana, two manifestations of Lord Vishnu who committed an act of penance, and they convinced Lord Shiva to stay as a Jyotilingam in Kedarnath so that worshippers seeking Shiva's blessing may find redemption here.

The Pandavas' Efforts at Persuasion

According to legend, the Pandavas sought to atone for their crime of killing their cousins, so they embarked on a journey to obtain the blessings of Lord Shiva, who had gone to Kedar and transformed himself as a bull and hid with other animals in the Himalayas. While Bheema was able to discern Lord Shiva by his hump when he broke apart two mountains with his magnificent might, Lord Shiva, who was drowning beneath the ground, had his hump on the ground. Bheema got her hands on it, and Lord Shiva rewarded them as a result.

Kedarnath Temple Transportation

When the Kedarnath temple is shuttered for six months during the winter, the deity's idol is transported to Ukhimath's Omkareshwar temple and worshiped there for six months.

Mantras of Kedarnath Temple

In the Kedarnath temple, the mantras are performed in Kannada.
