Address : Guptakashi, Uttarakhand, India

Why to visit Guptakashi

The name means "hidden Kashi," and the town's legendary heritage is linked to the Mahabharata epic. The Pandavas are said to have desired to meet Lord Shiva and beg his blessing after the Mahabharata conflict. Lord Shiva, on the other hand, did not wish to meet them and hid in Guptakashi before fleeing farther up the valley to Kedarnath. Guptakashi is home to the Kedarnath temple's hereditary pilgrimage priests.
