Why to visit Mawjymbuin Cave

Mawjymbuin Cave is a religiously significant site in Mawjymbuin village in Mawsynram (the wettest place on earth) in Cherrapunji. The 209-meter high cave, which is made of calcareous sandstones and has several stalagmites (produced by calcium carbonate depositions, weathering, and dripping of mineral enriched liquid), is of particular interest to geologists who do specific research here. Naturalists, photographers, pilgrims, and tourists alike visit the Mawjymbuin Cave.

Special Tip

Dont forget to carry a umbrella and a camera for some great pictures.
