Why to visit Don Bosco Museum

The Don Bosco Museum is a showcase for North East India's rich culture and customs. It is conveniently placed near the Police Bazaar in the Mawlai neighbourhood. It rises seven storeys into Shillong's skyline, with 16 well-designed galleries showcasing objects, artworks, and people essential to Northeastern culture. The importance of the Don Bosco Museum may be shown in the fact that it has been visited by members of the Rajya Sabha as well as the Thai princess. With its own research wing, publications, newsletters, and cultural calendar, the museum is more of an institution.  Another striking feature is that the museum is hexagonal in shape.

Special Tip

Inside the museum, cameras are not permitted. Throughout the year, the premises host competitions for authors, musicians, and lyricists, as well as academics and scholars.
