Why to visit Laitlum Canyons
The canyons are roughly a half-hour drive south of Shillong, at a distance of 21 kilometres. This unique viewing location, which literally translates as 'End of Hills,' gives the greatest panoramic views of the whole state of Meghalaya, surrounded by beautiful hills and valleys. Stay Laitlum Canyons at dawn or sunset to get the most out of your visit. Rasong, a tiny village hidden deep in the hills of the Laitlum gorge, may also be seen from the top of the Canyon.
