Why to visit Tikona Fort
The fort's original Marathi name is Vitandgad, but it is better known for the triangle shape it was erected in. The fort boasts towering defences, big doors, seven water tanks with clean water, and a stunning view from its tallest bastion, which is located at a height of 3500 feet.
The hike from Tikona Peth village to the top of the hill is great for those looking for a fun break. The journey takes you to the edge of the extended parapet, where you may take in the spectacular splendour of the surrounds after passing through various caverns, temples, and water tanks.
The fort region has no public transportation connections to the major cities. They are, nevertheless, available from Mumbai and Pune up to Kamshet village. You may need to look for shared autos from there. For this reason, private or hired vehicles are the best option. The Tikona fort is around 130 km from Mumbai and 60 km from Pune. Lonavala is the closest town to the stronghold, and it is from here that you can begin your trek.
