Lonavala Lake, on the outskirts of Lonavala and fed by the Inrayani River, mesmerises visitors with its simple beauty and calm surroundings. The lake is known as the monsoon lake because it fills up with water during the rainy season and dries off during the winter.

The location is the finest tourist attraction in Lonavala, especially during the monsoon, when birds of various species and wildlife may be seen on the lake's edges.

It is known for its production of the hard candy chikki and is also a major stop on the railway line connecting Mumbai and Pune.

The big cities of Mumbai (82 km) and Pune are also nearby (65 km). The town of Lonavala is only 1.6 kilometres from the lake. This location can be reached by walking or taking a car.
