Why to visit Ekvira Devi Temple
The famous Ekvira Aai Mandir is a Hindu temple located near the Karla Caves in Maharashtra, close to Lonavala and Mumbai. Hindus and people of different faiths worship Goddess Ekvir, who is located near the cave.
The Koli and Agri communities visit this temple to worship. Ekvira Mata is the principal deity, and Jogesvari Devi is to her left. The Ekvira Aai temple sits on a hill, and you'll have to hike about 500 stairs to get there.
On the Mumbai-Pune highway, there is a temple dedicated to the Koli (Fishermen) community. Karla caves is another name for it. In Marathi, the goddess is known as 'Ekvira Aai.'The Koli people ascend the tall mountain, which has 350 man-made steps, to reach the temple and worship Aai Ekvira during festivals (Navarathri and Chaitra).
Animal sacrifices are made in the shrine to Aai Ekvira by the Koli tribes. They have goats and poultry for sale.
The famed Karla caves, which are protected by the Archeological Survey of India, are located nearby.
