Why to visit Haji Ali Dargah
One of Mumbai's most recognisable sites, the Haji Ali Dargah, must not be missed. It is an altogether unique experience, not just a Dargah or a tourist destination.
Although there is constant activity, there is a sense of calmness as you approach the monument. Whatever faith you follow, you are warmly welcomed here.
The Haji Ali Dargah, which has ties to Sayyed Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari, was built in 1431. He was a wealthy trader from Bukhara (present-day Uzbekistan), who gave up his wealth and worldly possessions to make the journey to Mecca.
