Why to visit Gateway of India
The Gateway of India was constructed in Mumbai, Maharashtra, during the 20th century. This enormous landmark is situated on the ocean with a view of the pristine Arabian Sea in the Apollo Bunder neighbourhood of southern Mumbai. It is one of the most well-known tourist destinations in Mumbai because it still evokes the spirit of freedom and Indian independence, veiled in patriotism.
When King George V and his wife Queen Mary were on their tour of India, it was built in their honour. This well-known tourist destination, which was once a grandiose British town, now draws food merchants, vendors, nature lovers, and photographers who enjoy its attractiveness.
The building is a basalt arch with a height of 26 metres (85 feet). The Indo-Saracenic architectural style has a 10 metre elevation (35 feet). The monument's design combines elements of Islamic and Indian architectural styles; its ornamentation are in the former while its arch elements are in the latter.
This provides you with many opportunities for sightseeing and photography. The majority of tourists are either enjoying the sea breeze, eating street food, or taking in the beauty of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
