Why to visit MUSEO CAMERA
The Museo Camera is a one-of-a-kind antique camera museum that is housed in the urban lanes of Gurugram's DLF Phase 3 and features analogue still and video cameras that are more than a century old. The quirky repository was the idea of Indian photographer Aditya Arya and is a privately funded endeavour.
The museum is a wonderful illustration of our digital lifestyles at this point in history when social media and Instagram news feeds dominate every aspect of our lives. The India Photo Archive's Gurugram headquarters houses the gallery, which features a massive collection of over 1500 cameras from the 1880s to the 1990s.
Highlights of the Museo Camera:
- The artist's personal items and those given to him by his audience are both included in the museum's collection.
- In addition to the stunning cameras that line the depository's elegant shelves, pinned images and photographs also describe the process of film photography, including processing images from reels and similar tasks.
- Additionally, it features a complex exhibition of old artefacts, such as the early flash equipment, vintage photography films, enlargers, light metres, etc.
- The depository, which is the only one of its sort anywhere, is a must-see location for both professional and amateur photographers.
