Why to visit Trekking at Kurisumala Hill
Kurisumala Hill, widely known as the "Holy Cross Mountain," is 10 kilometres from Vagamon. This well-known hill is a popular Christian pilgrimage site, as well as a popular location for dairy farms. The Kurisumala Hill is surrounded on all sides by lush green tea gardens and dense woodlands, making it even more beautiful.
From this vantage point, you can see the Murugan Para. Trekking, camping, and paragliding attract visitors from all over the world. The Kurisumala Ashram, which is located here, attracts a large number of people. Devotees carry the holy cross up Kurisumala Hill during the week of Good Friday to reach the Ashram.
There is an antique house built in European architectural style on the way uphill. This mansion is located next to a man-made lake. Laurie Baker designed the house and the lake. You'll also see the dairy farms run by an Indo-Swiss project and overseen by the monks of Kurisumala Ashram.
The location is accessible by jeep and is a trekker's dream. To get to Thanaga Hill, visitors must first go across a muddy road and then a difficult rocky route.
