Why to visit Murugan Mala

Murugan Mala is a tiny hill on the eastern side of Kurisumala Hill in Vagamon, around 8 kilometres from the hill town. The hill is crowned by a single-rock shrine dedicated to Lord Murugan. Every year, worshippers from all across India go to this temple, which is an example of Indian rock-cut temple architecture. Lord Murugan, the temple's deity, is said to be Lord Shiva's son.

When you go out of the temple after paying your respects to the Lord, the cold fresh wind greets you, and the captivating beauty of the surroundings leaves you speechless. The best approach to get a feel for the area is to go for a walk. Tourists can simply spend some quiet time on the hill, taking in the rich scenery and abundant serenity. Murugan Mala hill temple is one of Vagamon's most popular attractions. It is a great location not just for Lord Murugan believers, but also for nature enthusiasts, photographers, and loners.

Special Tip

The best time to visit this place is between October to April. During the monsoon season, it is best to avoid visiting this temple because the path leading to it turns slick and treacherous.
