Why to visit Laxmi Narsimha Temple

This temple houses Hampi's largest effigy of Narasimha, who is seated on SeshaNaag, a seven-headed serpent that serves as a refuge for him. The idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Narasimha are put together. The monument, which is said to be the largest monolith statue in Hampi, was created in 1528 AD during the reign of Vijayanagara ruler Krishnadevaraya. After being mutilated during the Mughal attack on Hampi, the figure is now housed at the Archaeological Museum in Kamalapura.
