Why to visit Seven Sister Waterfalls
Seven Sister Falls in Meghalaya contains seven separate waterfalls carefully set side by side on a steep, craggy cliff, and looks quite significant even from a distance, if its name is to be believed. It's worth noting that Seven Sister Falls gets its name from the fact that it descends in seven phases. When it rains, the entire region comes alive, and the scenery becomes even more attractive.
Nohsngithiang Falls (also known as Mawsmai Falls or Seven Sister Falls) is a seven-segmented waterfall located 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) south of Mawsmai hamlet in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, India. It is one of India's tallest waterfalls, falling from a height of 315 metres (1,033 feet) and having an average width of 70 metres (230 feet).
Only during the rainy season do the Seven Sisters Falls plunge over the top of the Khasi Hills' limestone cliffs. The portions stretch the majority of the way along the cliff when in full spate. The light illuminates the Seven Sisters Falls, and the bright colours of the evening sun on the waterfalls add to its beauty.
