Why to visit Ulu Watu

The dynamic beachfront of Uluwatu draws surfers of all levels from all over the world. The waves are made up of five world-class surf breaks, and the hotels and restaurants that overlook the Indian Ocean offer spectacular views. Another significant attraction in this area is the Pura Luru Uluwatu temple.

The little strip of beach known as Uluwatu, located on Bali's south-western edge of Bukit, draws surfers of all levels from all over the world to its exhilarating beachfront. Uluwatu is derived from the words "ulu" and "watu," both of which imply "land's end." Five world-class surf breaks can be found here, and the hotels and restaurants that overlook the Indian Ocean offer spectacular views.

There is little to no public transportation to get there, and getting back into town without planned automobiles or taxis will be tough.

Special Tip

While visiting Pura Uluwatu, keep in mind that temple visits require appropriate attire like sarongs and a sash. Temple timings are 9am to 6pm.
