Why to visit Ganga Aarti
One of Varanasi's most significant ghats is Dashashwamedh. The Kashi Vishwanath Temple is not far from it. At this ghat, Ganga aarti is done every evening, and it is now considered to be a must-do activity in Varanasi.
At Dashashwamedh Ghat, there is hustle-bustle to find the best spot to witness the aarti, and then, as a shankh (conch) is blown, the entire city is silent. Everyone is alerted by the shankh, which signals the start of the aarti.
Since the River Ganga is the focus of the Banaras Ganga Aarti, a statue of the Goddess Ganga is positioned in the middle of one of the numerous elevated platforms. The aarti continues while bells ring, mantras are sung, and incense sticks and diyas are lit.
