Why to visit Assi Ghat
The southernmost ghat in Varanasi is the renowned Assi Ghat, which has won accolades on a global scale. It is one of the most popular destinations in the area and is well-known for the enormous Shivling that is located beneath a peepal tree.
One of the ghats that is frequently visited for relaxation and during festivities is Assi Ghat. Around 300 people arrive in the mornings on average days, while 2,500 individuals do so on festival days. Hindus also think that Tulsidas left for his heavenly residence from Assi Ghat.

Ganga Aarti in Assi Ghat
Every day between five and six in the morning, the Assi Ghat hosts the Subah Banaras morning Aarti. After the programme on Sunday morning, everyone is welcome to attend a free yoga class.
At 6:30 PM, the evening Ganga Aarti is conducted at the Ghat's two ends. The event is later followed by Deep Daan (the act of offering earthen lamps and flowers to the Ganga river). A big number of villagers and visitors attend the evening Aarti, in contrast to the morning Aarti.
