Why to visit Kaliadeh Palace
This Palace, which is located on an island in the Shipra River, is of great religious significance. It was built in the year 1458 AD. The Palace is flanked on all sides by river waters, and the man-made tanks and channels demonstrate the predecessors' technical prowess.
The architecture of this palace is impressive, with a large central hall known as the main arena. The palace's central dome is a stunning example of Persian architecture. It was originally so revered that Emperor Akbar and Jehangir paid a visit to this magnificent structure, as evidenced by two Persian inscriptions uncovered in one of the palace's passageways. It was destroyed during the Pindaris' reign, but Madhavrao Scindia discovered the monument's underlying beauty and determined to repair it.
