Why to visit Gomti Kund

Gomti Kund, located on the outskirts of Ujjain city, has a calm ambiance and is hence a good area to spend some quiet time. It is a holy water tank or a hilly pond located near the well-known Sandipani Ashram.

According to mythology, Lord Krishna gathered the water from numerous holy rivers and enabled his master divinely complete his rites by storing it in this water tank. GomtiKund is a pond with a steep slope. Because the water in this pond is considered sacred, believers fill their water bottles here and take it home. This is a must-see on your visit to Sandipani Ashram. Every year, thousands of worshippers go to the GomtiKund. The holy Vedas and Puranas both describe the importance of the ashram and the GomtiKund. You must schedule a visit to this sacred spot when seeing the main tourist attractions in Ujjain.

Special Tip

After your visit to this sacred site, If you are hungry, there is a site called Shri Ram Nashta Point where you can satisfy your hunger.
