Why to visit Royal Ontario Museum
The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is the most important museum in Canada. It is Canada's largest museum dedicated to both the natural world and humanity's cultural history. It houses world-renowned collections, houses outstanding scholars, and engages over a million visitors each year through creative programmes and galleries. The ROM, which is located in Toronto, was established in 1912 by a special Act of the Ontario Legislature and opened to the public on March 19, 1914.
About the contemporary Royal Ontario Museum
The Royal Ontario Museum exists thanks to the foresight of two extraordinary men. The first, Charles Trick Currelly (1876-1957), was born in Exeter, Ontario, and studied at the University of Toronto to become a Methodist minister. However, he quickly learned that his main interests were in ancient cultures and archaeological investigation.
