Why to visit Japanese Stupa
The Stupa, or peace pagoda, was built by the Japanese Buddhist community as part of their effort to honour locations important to Lord Buddha's life and disseminate his philosophy of nonviolence throughout the world.
With a height of 400 metres, it is the tallest peace pagoda and has four statues of Lord Buddha. The four statues on the stupa's four corners represent the four stages of Lord Buddha's life. A sizable park and a modest Japanese Buddhist temple are also there.
These statues, which are made of gold and show the Lord Buddha's birth, enlightenment, teachings, and demise, are a symbol of his teachings and of life's impermanence. A chair lift aerial ropeway that transports guests to the top of the hill and back down is one of the primary attractions.
This 2,200-foot ropeway, which is managed by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC), was given as a gift by Fujii Guruji as a sign of Indo-Japanese friendship. The serpentine staircase is the alternate route to this "stupa."
