Why to visit Griddhakuta Peak
This peak is called the Vulture's Peak because it resembles a vulture and offers regular opportunities to see the bird. It is believed that Lord Buddha lived there for some amount of time. It also provides an excellent 360-degree perspective of the entire area.
Here, a 600 BCE Buddha figure was discovered and is now on display at the Nalanda Archeological Museum. The walk connecting to Ghoda Katora Lake and the surrounding forest add to the tourists' great experience.
The hill can be reached through a bridle route, but riding the Aerial Chairlift, which runs every day but Thursday, is far more enjoyable. A one-way trip takes 7.5 minutes, and the ride offers a beautiful view of Rajgir's hills.
