Why to visit Venuvan

A historical park called Venu Vana, which means "Bamboo Forest," was given to Lord Buddha by Magadha King Bimbisara about 2500 years ago. Within the park lies a tiny body of water known as the Karandak tank.

Lord Buddha loved the forest, and before going to teach his followers on Griddhakuta hill, he would take a bath in the Karandak tank. As it got late after taking a bath in the hot springs, Bimbisara allegedly spent a night here with Lord Buddha.

The bases of nine brick stupas, the foundations of a chamber, and tablets from the 10th and 11th centuries have all been recovered during excavations in the forest. Even today, the park is tranquil thanks to the Buddha temple and the huge trees that line the walkways.
