Why to visit Khonoma Village

Khonoma Village, a town pertaining to Nagaland's 'Angami Naga' ethnic group, is a one-of-a-kind project in the nation. Khonoma hamlet, around 20 kilometres from Kohima, is a Green Village where all forms of poaching have been banned for a more sustainable habitat. The Naga tribes who live here have always relied on the environment for their food and have a robust hunting culture.
Due to the obvious presence of dustbins and public restrooms, the village is also recognized for being one of Nagaland's cleanest. During their stay in Khonoma, visitors can go birdwatching and trekking. The settlement, which is located on the outskirts of the city, is notable for successfully protecting unique and endangered animals and flora, as well as terrace gardening on hillsides.
You can also go to the village's top portion, where you'll be greeted by a typical carved gate. Furthermore, 20 different types of paddy are grown on the terraces of the hills here.
