Why to visit Kohima Zoo

Golden langurs and Blythe's tragopan are the Zoo's primary attractions. It is home to the state bird, the uncommon tragopan bird, as well as the state animal, the buffalo. It was constructed on a hill and is well-suited to evoking the natural dwelling of wild animals in a natural setting. A specific section for children has been built, complete with a play zone and interesting animal facts.
Surprisingly, no animal at this zoo is contained and is allowed to roam freely. Adventure enthusiasts can participate in activities such as bird watching, animal viewing, jungle safaris, camping, and trekking. This zoo, located on a hillside, is also a beautiful picnic place and one of Kohima's most famous tourist attractions.

Location: Approximately 6.5 km from Kohima
