Why to visit Kohima Museum

The Kohima Museum, located atop Upper Bayavu Hill, is a popular tourist site that displays Naga culture and history. Since the time of the Nagas, they have the rarest ancient artifacts and priceless treasures. Among the things on show are statues, jewellery, pillars, and gate posts, as well as a ceremonial drum that resembles a dug-out warship in a separate shed. The museum's basement has endemic regional birds and animals.
The government of Nagaland founded this museum in 1970, and it is situated atop Bayavü Hill, about 1.5 kilometres from the town centre. The museum features art and relics from the Naga people, as well as old weaponry, colourful traditional clothing, and Naga cuisine, among other things.
