Why to visit VOC Park and Zoo
The majority of Coimbatore residents who visit the VOC Park and Zoo, popularly known as the V.O.Chidambaranar Park, do so for recreational purposes. Families that want to have a great time with their children and introduce them to the world of animals frequently take picnics to the park and zoo. The park offers a children's play area, an aquarium, and a Jurassic Park where adults can also have fun. It is the ideal setting for sparking creative story-building. Over 500 creatures from about 30 different species, including birds, mammals, and reptiles, are housed in the zoo.
The attractions inside the park are :
• Amusement Park: The amusement park has an aquarium and a zoological garden with 106 mammals, more than 300 birds, and roughly 55 reptiles that draw not only animal or nature lovers but also students and researchers to observe the animals in a habitat that is as similar to their original habitat as possible. The theme park also features a Jurassic Park with numerous dinosaur models set amidst well-kept gardens.
• Children's Play Area: Swings, a see-saw, and slides are all included in the children's play area's equipment. There is adequate seating so that parents may sit and watch over their kids as they play in the playground. A toy train that travels the entire park is also present in the garden.
• Annual Events: The area hosts a number of fairs, exhibitions, and annual celebrations including the Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations.
