Why to visit Nilgiri Biosphere Nature Park
Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, also known as Nilgiri Biosphere Nature Park, is a nature park near Coimbatore that is situated in Anaikatti at a distance of 33 kilometres from Coimbatore Junction. It is a significant tourist destination close to Coimbatore.
Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve or Nilgiri Biosphere Nature Park is a government initiative to protect, conserve, and propagate endemic and rare, threatened, and endangered species of flora. It was founded in 1936 by the Coimbatore Zoological Park and Conservation Centre.
In addition to numerous species of mammals, reptiles, birds, etc., the park claims over 430 kinds of its 25,000 plant species. Each tree has a board with its Latin and Tamil names on it. The park's outstanding attractiveness is further enhanced by the abundance of colorful-looking butterflies.
