Why to visit Gingee Fort

Gingee Fort or Senji Fort, known as one of India's most formidable forts, is another excellent spot to trek near Chennai. This fort, which is located in the Villupuram district near Pondicherry, contains historically and architecturally significant sights such as the Kalyana Mahal and the Queen Fort. Rajagiri, Krishnagiri, and Chandrayandurg are the three hillocks to hike to. It was constructed in the 9th century by the Chola Dynasty and afterwards modified in the 13th century by the Vijayanagar Empire. A wonderful place to hike and photograph the fort's architecture.

Special Tip
