Why to visit Dakshinachitra

The Dakshinachitra Museum in Chennai is one of India's living-history museums. Great works of architecture, crafts, performing arts, and South Indian lifestyles are all housed in Dakshinachitra. The museum's vision and mission are to promote South Indian states' cultures by making them more engaging and entertaining for visitors. It is a project of the Madras Craft Foundation, an NGO that first opened its doors to the public on December 14, 1996. There are 4,220 artefacts and 1,000,000 photographs in the heritage museum. Visiting here would provide you with a thorough understanding of south Indian culture. You will go away with the most wonderful learning gifts. It was built in the shape of a village and depicts the traditional South Indian way of life.

Special Tip

Food is not allowed inside, so don't bring any. A separate area has been set up for eating beside the parking lot.
