Why to visit Chatuchak Market

Chatuchak Market, Bangkok's king of markets and one of the world's largest, is spread out over 35 acres and home to over 8,000 stalls. Clothing, accessories, handicrafts, furniture, art, food, literature, antiques, and a variety of other interesting souvenirs can all be found here. To make the most of your buying experience at this crowded market, keep your negotiating skills at the ready.

Every day, over 200,000 people come to look for the best deals. This Bangkok weekend market has been open since 1942. It used to be known as Phahonyothin Market, but it was renamed in 1987. It was given the name 'Chatuchak' after a nearby park of the same name.

Special Tip

Be prepared to bargain a lot. Most items are massively overpriced. But with a little bit of convincing, you can get great deals for most things you purchase. The opening time of the market is 6pm to 12am only on Fridays keep this in mind .
