Why to visit Bibi ka Maqbara
The Bibi ka Maqbara is a lovely tomb dedicated to Rabia- Ul- Daurani aka Dilras Banu Begum, Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb's wife. Aurangzeb built Bibi ka Maqbara in remembrance of his wife in 1661. This majestic structure was built in the name of Aurangzeb's son Azam Shah, who was born in the year 1653, to honour Rabia - Ul - Daurani, who passed away in the year 1657. The monument is often referred to as the Taj of the Deccan since it is modelled after the famed Taj Mahal, which was inspired by this location. Bibi ka Maqbara was designed to be a rival to the Taj Mahal, but due to the deterioration in architecture and the dimensions of the Taj Mahal, it was never completed.
Special Tip
