Why to visit Bhadra Maruti

The Hindu god Lord Hanuman is honoured at the Bhadra Maruti Temple at Khuldabad, near Aurangabad. This temple is one of only three in India where the presiding deity, Lord Hanuman, is depicted in the Bhav Samadhi or resting posture, the other two being in Allahabad and Madhya Pradesh. Bhadra Maruti, approximately 4 kilometres from the renowned Ellora Caves, is thronged by worshippers, especially on Saturdays during the Marathi calendar months of "Sharavan." The mythology of Bhadra Maruti is linked to King Bhadrasen, the former monarch of Khuldabad, which was formerly known as Bhadravati.

Special Tip

Must visit on Saturdays especially in sharavan
