As there are only a few spots available, you are advised to submit your request as soon as you can. There is no payment for any White House tours.

The average length of a self-guided tour of the White House is 45 minutes. The White House strongly advises taking public transportation because there are no parking spots on the street close to the White House.
Special Tip
Backpacks, bags, strollers, any kind of food or drink, and any kind of liquid or aerosol canister are prohibited goods. Compact cameras with lenses less than 3 inches can be brought in, but no video cameras or equipment with a flash.
