Martin Luther King, Jr. was one of the most influential people in American history. One of the best places to learn about Dr. King is Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park in Atlanta, Georgia. The 38-acre park is home to hundreds of historic structures, the majority of which date from between 1890 and 1920, and is located close to Atlanta's downtown. Dr. King spent most of his youth and adulthood in various homes and institutions. The majority of visitors start their excursions at the National Park Service Visitor Center. The International Civil Rights Walk of Fame honors historical figures like M.K. Gandhi as well as numerous others who have dedicated their lives to promoting equality, justice, and nonviolence.
