Why to visit Panchganga Ghat
Panchganga Ghat, as its names imply, is where five holy rivers join in an amazing display of holiness and beauty. The Ganges, Saraswati, Yamuna, Kirana, and Dhupapapa are considered to be the five holy rivers. Here, the five river goddesses are represented by five black stone idols.
The Panchganga Ghat is a prime example of harmonious Hindu-Muslim relations. On the location where the Bindu Madhava Temple formerly stood, the Mosque of Alamgir, also known as Beni Madhav-ka-Darera, towers over the ghat.
Some intriguing Panchganga facts:
This ghat has a lengthy past. Vaidant Ramanand, the guru of the renowned saint Kabir, is said to have used Panchganga Ghat as a teaching location. Additionally, it is thought that Tulsi Das, a revered poet, wrote the well-known Vinay-Patrika here at the ghat.
