Why to visit Luna Park
Since 1932, Luna Park has been Sydney's most popular amusement park. The park features a small number of rides and is evidently popular with children. Since its beginning, the park has gone under several names, with Luna Park being the third and hopefully final one. The Hair Raiser, the Moon Ranger, the Wild Mouse roller coaster, and the Tumblebug, among others, are among the simple yet thrilling amusement park rides. There are also restaurants and cafes scattered throughout the park, as well as tiny entertaining games for youngsters.
The entry to Luna Park is a huge cheery Moon face. The smiling and waving smile at Milsons Point can be seen from harbourside vantage points such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay, as well as ferries arriving and departing the quay.
At Luna Park, you'll find a variety of dining options, the majority of which are just what you'd expect — burgers, fairy floss, and other deep-fried pleasures. The Hungry Horse, a carousel-themed cafe, provides nachos, pulled beef po boy, tacos, and other classic diner fare at the park. Hotdogs are available from Helter Skelter, the local retro kiosk, if you prefer your lunch on the go.
If you're driving, there's on-site parking, although it's pricey, as it is in most of inner-Sydney. The best way is to take the rail or bus to Circular Quay and then take a ferry over the sea. It's unquestionably less expensive, and you get the added bonus of seeing the famed Luna Park grin as your boat docks.
