Why to visit Monkey Point

The tallest point in Kasauli is called Monkey Point provides a stunning view of the Sutlej River, Chandigarh, and the largest peak in the Lower Himalayas, the snow-capped Choor Chandni Peak. The area is formed like a foot because it is thought that this is where Lord Hanuman stepped when coming back with the Sanjeevni Booti.

Things to do at Monkey Point: 

  • Visit the Hanuman temple inside the air base to find serenity. This is thought to have been the location where Lord Hanuman set foot while traveling back with the Sanjeevni Booti. 
  • You can also go on a long trek to Monkey Point. 
  • It is also worthwhile to explore the Air Station but stay out of the restricted sections.
  • Witness the Satluj River as it flows down the valley, making turns and twists as it approaches the horizon.
