Why to visit Thennangur Panduranga Temple

Thennangur Panduranga Temple is near Kanchipuram's Thennangur village, in the Tiruvannamalai district. The town is also renowned as Goddess Meenakshi's birthplace. Panduranga and his consort Rukmayee are honoured in the Thennangur Panduranga Temple. Because of its religious significance, distinctive architecture, and divine idols of Lord Panduranga and Rukmayee, it attracts travellers from all over the world.

Swami Haridas Giri installed the temple's main idol, which he had brought with him from Pandharpur some 500 years ago. A rare find in India is an idol of Achyutraja Perumal, which is housed in the beautiful temple. No temple in India is known to have an idol of Achyutraja Perumal, making it a one-of-a-kind find in the country.

A lovely fusion of the Orthodox Sampraday and the Bhajan Sampraday can be seen here. Most families pick the Maha Mandap inside the temple complex as their wedding site since it is believed that the Lord blesses married couples. Lord Panduranga is also said to come in various forms on certain occasions. Devotees come kilometres to visit and offer their prayers at the Thennangur Panduranga Temple, which has enormous religious and spiritual significance.
