Why to visit Deolo Hill
Deolo Hill is a hilltop located to the north-east of Kalimpong in West Bengal, about 10 kilometres from Kalimpong Bus Station. Deolo Hill, at roughly 2000 metres above sea level, is the town's highest point and one of the most popular Kalimpong tourist attractions.
Deolo Hill is one of two hills between Kalimpong and Durpin Hill, the other being Durpin Hill. Two of Kalimpong's three water reservoirs are located atop this hill, and both are primary sources of drinking water. Tourists can enjoy wonderful views of the surrounding villages of Relli valley and Teesta River, as well as the town of Kalimpong, from the summit of this hill. The snow-capped mountains of West Sikkim can also be seen from this summit on a clear day.
A park with exotic flowers has been established at the top of the hill for recreational purposes. Tourists and locals alike flock to the area for picnics. There are also various overlooks where you may enjoy the breathtaking sunset and sunrise views. Paragliding, horseback riding, and trekking are among the adventure sports available on the hill.
