Why to visit Cactus Nursery
Pine View Nursery is a cactus nursery located 2.5 kilometres from Kalimpong Bus Station on Atisha Road in Kalimpong, West Bengal. It is a popular nursery in Kalimpong and one of the stops on a typical Kalimpong route. Pine View Nursery, a private commercial nursery founded in 1971, is well-known for its exotic cactus collection. Mr. Mohan S Pradhan, the project's and nursery's creator, quit his orchid business to pursue his passion for cactus. During his business trips to various parts of the world, he had the opportunity to collect several types of cactus. Soon after, he began to raise them in his home-built greenhouse.
It covers 2 acres and houses approximately 1500 types of cacti that have been meticulously collected from all around the world over the last four decades. Another interesting feature of this location is that it has Asia's largest cactus collection. Several national and international honours have been given to the nursery for cultivating a variety of cacti in one location. The nursery is well-organized and well-kept.
