Why to visit Sambhar Lake

The largest saltwater inland lake in India is Sambhar Lake. A 5.1 km long barrier that separates the lake also aids in the production of salt. Several migrating birds visit the region. As a result, it ranks among the city's most visited tourist attractions. It is oval in shape and is nourished by five rivers: the Medtha, Samaod, Mantha, Rupangarh, Khari, and Khandela.

The backdrop of the stunning Aravalli mountains adds to the splendour of the surroundings. Also, it includes a few tourist destinations including the Salt Museum and Salt Laboratory.

Things To Do

  • Birdwatching: Throughout the winter, thousands of migrating birds stop by the wetland to rest, and you may discover all kinds of domestic and exotic birds here, with pink flamingos making up the largest group.
