Why to visit Ural Ataman Classic Car Museum
If you enjoy classic cars, this is one of the best sites to visit in Istanbul. This museum contains a diverse collection of classic automobiles from various eras. More than sixty vehicles, including trucks and motorcycles, from the 1960s and 1950s are on display at this museum's 2000 square metre exhibition area. Along with the rare historic cars on display, there is also a collection of petrol memorabilia and other related items.
There are two divisions to the Ural Ataman Classic Car Museum. The ground floor of the first part displays 1950s and 1960s American vehicles and motorcycles, as well as a re-created 1950s cafe with neon signs and a jukebox playing midcentury favourites. The museum's European automotive collection is housed in the second section on the upper floor, along with a re-created European bar. A modest library, a model racetrack, and other memorabilia are also available.
A 1952 Jaguar XK120 Roadster, a 1954 Chevrolet Corvette, a 1955 Ford Thunderbird Convertible, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, and a 1960 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II are among the collection's highlights, all of which are in excellent condition.
The Ural Ataman Classic Car Museum is located in the Sariyer district's Tarabya residential area. Driving or using a taxi is the most convenient way to get there. To get to the museum via public transportation, take the tram to Kanatas or the metro green line to Haciosman station, then transfer to bus 29D.
