Why to visit Tsogmo Lake

Tsomgo Changu Lake, a glacier lake 40 kilometres from Gangtok at a height of 12,310 feet, is one of the most essential and picturesque locations to visit in Gangtok. The lake's crystal blue waters mirror the Himalayas' towering peaks, creating a breathtaking scene. The prayer wheels and a small Shiva temple on the lake's beaches attest to the lake's hallowed status among the inhabitants. Spend the full day at this lake, as it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Picnicking on its shores will be a memorable experience, which can be enhanced by the tea and snack vendors that serve delectable goodies around the lake.

Special Tip

When visiting the lake, always careful to wear/carry boots because it can be very slippery. For about INR 50, you may rent plastic boots near the lake. Carry an extra pair of socks as well.
