Why to visit Reshi Hot Spring

These hot water springs, known as Cha-chu in Reshi, are winter baths dating back to the ancient time, where pilgrims and travellers would spend a week or more soaking in the waters, which were said to have healing benefits. The spring is easily accessible and may be found following a one-hour downhill journey into the Rangit River valley. Lho Khandro Sang Phug, also known as 'the cave of occult fairies,' is a small monastery and holy grotto located near to the river. The water at the Reshi Hot Springs is regarded sacred due to the presence of this cave, and a warm soak in the springs is supposed to be highly effective for curing all skin problems.

Special Tip

The best time to visit this hot spring along the banks of the River Rangit is between December and February, when the weather is mild and pleasant.
