Why to visit Kabi Longstok

Kabi Longstok, a picturesque small town 17 kilometres from the northern city of Gangtok, is deemed a historical site due to the beginning of Sikkimese history here in the early 13th century. Nearby, there is a beautiful Buddhist monastery where you can see children and Buddhist devotees learning the religion and its principles. There is also a library and a garden where you may learn more about the location and its history. To pay tribute, life-size statues of Bhutia and Lepcha, who were blood brothers, have been constructed near the stone pillar. If you're visiting Gangtok, Kabi Town should surely be on your itinerary.

Special Tip

Despite the fact that Kabi Town receives a lot of rain throughout the year, the weather is mild and pleasant. The best time to visit Kabi Town is between October and March, when the weather is pleasant.
