Why to visit Hutheesing Jain Temple
The Hutheesing Jain Temple, which was founded in 1848, is one of Ahmedabad's most revered Jain temples. This temple project, begun by Sheth Hutheesing Kesarisinh and completed by his wife, Shethani Harkunwar, is located on Shahibaug Road in Bardolpura and was posthumously named after Kesarisinh. This two-story white marble edifice, dedicated to Lord Dharmanath, the Jains' 15th Tirthankara, houses 11 god sculptures.
Sheth Hutheesing is a character in the film Sheth Hutheesing In 1848, Kesarisinh began construction on the Hutheesing Jain temple with an investment of INR 8 lakh. Shethani Harkunvar, Kesarisinh's wife, continued the construction of this important temple after her husband died at the age of 49 during the construction.
The Hutheesing Jain Temple is located in Badolpura, about 15 to 20 minutes from Ahmedabad's city centre. Visitors can reach the temple via bus, taxi, or train.
