Why to visit Sikandra Fort
The fort of Sikandar is noted for its spectacular gates, tombs, and red sandstone decorations, making it one of Agra's most popular tourist destinations. The fort's architecture, which is a mix of Islamic and Hindu styles, is also well-known. Despite the fact that the tomb is that of Akbar, the greatest Mughal monarch, the fort's construction is heavily influenced by Hindu architecture. The finials, balconies, and window designs all reflect this. The exceptional craftsmanship and exquisite stone carvings will astound you as you go around the fort. The structure includes four impressive entrances, albeit the northern gate was struck by lightning. Stucco work, mosaics, and dome-shaped pavilions known as chhatri adorn the eastern and western gateways. The mausoleum's main entrance is on the southern side and is the most spectacular.
