Why to visit Ella

The town is most known for its unique nine-arched railway bridge, which is an excellent example of colonial-era Sri Lankan building. A favourite activity is walking down the railway track to the bridge, especially around the time the train comes. For a relaxing getaway, there are various charming cafes, walking routes, and guest houses set in the hills. The famed Lipton's Seat, where tea magnate Sir Thomas Lipton would supervise his ever-expanding empire, is also worth a visit.

Ella is also encompassed by lush trees, which are always surrounded by a gentle cloud cover. The town is also known for its tea plantation, which serves as one of the country's principal sources of foreign exchange. Hiking trails through the woods are available at this location. A small and pleasant spot in the province of Uva where you can have some fun and spend some quality time.

Special Tip

The Little Adam peak is one of the most exciting place you can visit.
